The Houston Texans have re-signed veteran free agent wide receiver Kevin Walter, inking him to a five-year contract with a total value in excess of $21 milllion, according to NFL sources.
Walter was a free agent for one day, during which he held discussions with the Baltimore Ravens.
However, the Ravens traded for Anquan Boldin, which ended their pursuit of Walter.
Walter goes back to the Texans where he has been a highly effective receiver opposite star wideout Andre Johnson.
The 6-foot-3, 218-pounder is regarded as a surehanded receiver and an effective blocker who runs crisp routes.
