Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman said he wasn't honest with team doctors so he could get back in the game after being diagnosed with a potential concussion.
"I had a concussion," Redman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I was pretty much out of it the rest of the game. I just tried to go back in. I said I was all right."
So, Redman, who has rushed for 12 yards on 10 carries this season, felt like he did what he had to do.
The Steelers took issue with Redman's comments, saying they followed all NFL protocols.
"Isaac was taken out of the game, and we announced that he was being evaluated for a concussion," the Steelers said in a statement. "He was then taken through the proper protocol by our medical staff and it was deemed he was cleared to return to action after multiple examinations. He then re-entered the game and saw action shortly thereafter and throughout the rest of the game."
