Steelers bring back Brett Keisel

Brett Keisel is a Steeler once again.

On Wednesday, the Steelers announced that the veteran defensive tackle was brought back on a two-year contract. Keisel is entering his 13th season with the Steelers.

“It means a lot to be back,” Keisel said, via the team's website. “There really is no place like here, no place like home. It was tough, just the unknown. For them to give me the opportunity to come back means a lot to me and I can’t wait to get back to work. I still have a little time to not only get to know these men I am going to go to battle with, but just get back into football stuff. I feel great. I have been training my tail off with the thought that I am going to be back. It looks like all of that training has paid off.”

Keisel was taken by the Steelers in the seventh round by the Steelers in 2002. In his career, Keisel has recorded 246 tackles and 29 sacks.

In a sense, Keisel had it made this offseason. Though he was released by the Steelers, he didn't have to go through the rigors of training camp, only to wind up back with his original team.
