Shaun Suisham had a superb year in 2013, connecting on 30 of 32 field goals.
As a result, the Pittsburgh Steelers wanted to reward their kicker with a contract extenison to ensure he's with the club for many more years. On Friday, they did so, announcing a four-year extension that will place Suisham witht he organization through the 2018 season.
Since 2010, Suisham has connected on 95 of 109 field goal attempts and holds an 87.2 kicking percentage, which ranks first in franchise history.
The Steelers did the right thing in locking up their reliable kicker. The value of a solid kicker can often times be understated.
