The Pittsburgh Steelers have picked up the fifth-year option for defensive end Cameron Heyward through the 2015 season, their 2011 first-round draft pick.
This secures Heyward for a fifth season.
The Steelers exercised the option prior to a May 3 NFL deadline.
Drafted 31st overall out of Ohio State, Heyward is due a $6.969 million salary.
In 13 starts last season, Heyward recorded 63 tackles, five sacks, five passes defensed, and 31 pressures.
