Former New Orleans Saints special teams ace Steve Gleason, who is waging a courageous battle against Lou Gehrig’s Disease, will announce the team’s third-round draft pick next Friday.
The NFL announced alumni from all 32 teams will be a part of the festivities and New Orleans will use Gleason, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Gleason has been close to the organization since he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Most clubs will have a former player announce their second-round pick but New Orleans is without a selection in Round 2, so Gleason will read a name in Round 3.
