Defensive tackle Jason Hatcher is coming off the best season of his eight-year career, but unlike several other high profile free agent prospects looking to cash in their chips as soon as possible, the former Dallas Cowboy is in no rush to put pen to paper.
After visiting with the defending champion Seahawks in Seattle on Tuesday, Hatcher left the Pacific Northwest without a finalized agreement and now plans to visit the Tennessee Titans later this week, per Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.
In 2013, Hatcher made the switch to 4-3 defensive tackle under new coordinator Monte Kiffin and experienced tremendous results, racking up a career-high 11.0 sacks, 15 quarterback hits and 15 tackles for loss in 15 starts. But while Hatcher’s production levels reached an all-time high last season, the former third-round pick out of Grambling State is scheduled to turn 32-years-old on July 13, which could be a factor driving some teams away from the pursuit.
