Vikings safety Harrison Smith will sit out Monday night's game against the Giants, coach Leslie Frazier told reporters on Thursday.

Frazier added that Smith's toe injury may require surgery in the near future.

The Vikings already moved linebacker Desmond Bishop to injured reserve and need help correcting a defense that ranks 31st in the NFL at 418 yards given up per game.
