Buccaneers guard Carl Nicks has undergone a surgical procedure for an infected foot, the team announced.

Nicks contracted MRSA this offseason, along with kicker Lawrence Tynes. Whereas Tynes had his season end on injured reserve, Nicks was able to return and play this season.

However, the bacteria infection returned last week, which caused him to miss Tampa Bay's game against the Eagles.

With Nicks having surgery, he'll likely be out for a short period of time at minimum.
