Former Nebraska running back Aaron Green, who was in Lincoln for only one season, has chosen TCU as his next destination.
The former blue-chip recruit will join the Horned Frogs and shift from the Big Ten to the Big 12 after sitting out the 2012 season.
Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson's top three running backs this fall — Waymon James, Ed Wesley and Matthew Tucker — will be upperclassmen who have received plenty of carries throughout their career. Because of the 5-11, 190-pounder's talent level, he should be able to step in and compete for serious playing time in 2013.
The San Antonio native rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries with the Cornhuskers in his lone season. The Class of 2011 product was one of the best prep backs in the state of Texas along with Malcolm Brown of the Texas Longhorns and Brandon Williams, who was with Oklahoma before transferring to Texas A&M after this past season.
Landing a former top running back recruit such as Green just shows how far TCU has come under the Patterson regime.
