New England Patriots reserve quarterback Tim Tebow didn't play at all in Detroit as the AFC East franchise lost, 40-9, to the Lions.
The Patriots played Tom Brady in the first half and Ryan Mallett for the second half.
What does this mean for Tebow's roster spot?
That remains unclear, but conventional wisdom suggests that Tebow is likely going to play extensively next week in the preseason finale.
"You prepare yourself and be ready for whenever your number is called," Tebow said after the game, via ESPN Boston. "There's nothing else to it. You just prepare, and whatever you're asked to do, you do at 100 percent, with everything you have.
"You want everything to go well, but it's not. There are going to be ups and downs. That's what life is, and you just have to handle them as best as you possibly can."
