As reported earlier this week by National Football Post, Jeff Tedford was officially named the of-fensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tedford joins new coach Lovie Smith, who was hired earlier this week. Smith and Tedford have been talking about working together for several months as each spent the past season out of coaching.
Tedford was fired by Cal after the 2012 season. However, during his 10 years at the school, he built one of the most successful runs in Cal history. He also developed quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Kyle Boller at Cal. Previously during stints at Oregon and Fresno State, Tedford worked with eventual first-round picks Trent Dilfer, David Carr, Joey Harrington and Akili Smith.
