He'd be ideal to work with Jake Locker Brad Biggs
News got popping about veteran quarterbacks this morning when it became known the Denver Broncos are shopping Kyle Orton, the quarterback they got in the 2009 Jay Cutler trade.
Orton’s a popular player who should draw considerable interest as the Broncos clear the deck to begin the Tim Tebow era. But Matt Hasselbeck is another name that is being thrown around. The Seattle Seahawks would like to bring him back –- and losing Hasselbeck would put them in the market for an experienced player – but according to former NFP columnist Mike Lombardi, now of the NFL Network, the Tennessee Titans are making a strong push for Hasselbeck. That’s not a surprise.
The Miami Dolphins could also be in play for Hasselbeck. The Titans are interesting because if they brought Hasselbeck in he would be an ideal veteran to work with first-round draft pick Jake Locker and bring him along. Hasselbeck would be competent as a starter and has the kind of personality and professional skills to really benefit Locker.
Can the Titans get him out the Northwest to do that? We’ll see.
