Tight end signs in advance of NFL deadline Aaron Wilson
The Houston Texans took care of some business today, the team announced.
Daniels signed his $3.168 million restricted free agent.
Daniels was assigned a first-round and third-round tender, the maximum tender under NFL rules.
Daniels was drafted in the fourth round by the Texans in 2006. He started the first eight games of last season before being placed on the reserve/injured list with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Daniels finished the season with 40 catches for 519 yards and five touchdowns and ranked third on the team in touchdown receptions.
Daniels ranks second in franchise history with 207 receptions and 2,501 receiving yards and third in touchdowns with 15 scores in 54 career games.
