Texans’ Wade Smith has knee re-evaluated

The Houston Texans at first didn't seem all that concerned with left guard Wade Smith's knee injury.

He banged knees with a teammate a week ago, and has not practiced since. The knee has swollen, and was regarded as a bone bruise.

Now, the Texans are getting Smith's knee further evaluated and getting a second opinion, according to Coach Gary Kubiak.

“Obviously, he banged knees, had his knee swell up on him, had a big bone bruise,” Kubiak said Monday via the Texans website. “Hasn’t responded the last few days the way we wanted it. We’re re-evaluating him, having some other people look at it today.”
