Mike Vrabel is headed back to the NFL

Vrabel is leaving Ohio State to become the Houston Texans' linebackers coach.

The former NFL linebacker played for the New England Patriots when Texans coach Bill O'Brien was on the Patriots' staff as offensive coordinator.

O'Brien is also considering hiring Romeo Crennel, who coached Vrabel with the Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs.

Vrabel was known as a key recruiter and fiery leader with the Buckeyes, where he played collegiately.

As a player, Vrabel was known for his toughness, intelligence and versatility.

Now, he's applying those attributes to the coaching profession.
