An overnight report surfaced that the Houston Texans might be interested in acquiring quarterback Ryan Mallett from the Patriots.
However, that appears not to be the case.
Even though coach Bill O'Brien is familiar with Mallett from his days in New England, the Houston Chronicle's John McClain writes that the Texans will not be trading for the backup quarterback.
It would be tough for the Texans to put faith in a quarterback that has only thrown one pass in an NFL regular season game. So that's why it's an unlikely scenario at this point.
