Texans work out Ras-I Dowling

The Texans worked out cornerback Ras-I Dowling along with seven other players, according to a league source.

Dowling was a second-round pick in 2010 by the New England Patriots. His early struggles led to his release this past preseason and he has been unable to find a team to latch on to since.

Dowling played his college ball at Virginia, where he was named a second-team All-American in 2010.

The Texans also tried out Jalil Brown, Eric Hagg, Mario Butler, Myron Lewis, Locyce Means, Steven Terrell and Josh Victorian.
