Wide receiver agrees to a three-year deal with $5.9 million guaranteed. Joe Fortenbaugh
Wide receiver Chris Chambers hit a low point in his career last November when the San Diego Chargers decided to drop him from the roster midway through the season.
The Chiefs decided to take a chance on the 31-year-old wideout, and it paid off handsomely as Chambers hauled in 36 passes for 608 yards with four touchdowns in just nine games in Kansas City.
Those nine games were more productive from a statistical standpoint than anything Chambers had accomplished in his previous two seasons.
As a result, the Chiefs and the nine-year veteran reached an agreement on a three-year deal worth up to $15 million, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com.
The contract also contains $5.9 million in guaranteed money.
Chambers now has the opportunity to play opposite wide receiver Dwayne Bowe in an offense that will be run by former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis.
