The hunt is on for Antrel Rolle

Because safety Antrel Rolle was cut by the Arizona Cardinals Thursday afternoon, he doesn’t have to wait until the free agent market opens up at 12:01pm eastern to make a deal.

And there are several teams in the NFL that are well aware of this fact.

At the current moment, the Chicago Bears are actively involved in negotiations for Rolle’s services, according to our very own Brad Biggs, who is all over the Bears’ beat at the current moment. Biggsy spoke to Rolle’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who told him “the Bears would be an attractive team. Stay tuned.”

Arizona parted ways with the five-year veteran on Thursday because he was set to cash in on a $4 million roster bonus next Tuesday. The former Miami Hurricane intercepted four passes and recorded 72 tackles for the Cardinals in 2009.

Rolle is widely regarded as the top free agent safety available this offseason.

According to Biggs, a deal could be reached before midnight.
