For all of the fantasy football owners out there who had an eye on Jamaal Charles, I’ve got some bad news for you.

He just got saddled with some serious backfield competition.

Free agent running back Thomas Jones has agreed to a two-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. Per Schefter, Jones will make $3 million in 2010, $2 million in 2011 and will have the opportunity to earn another $500,000 in incentives.

The ten-year veteran rushed for 1,402 yards (third in NFL) and 14 touchdowns with the Jets in 2009.

The sad thing is that for the past four years or so they had the best team in the NFL according to all the experts. And what have they to show for it? Not a darn thing. Playoff chokes galore but nothing else.
