Tennessee Titans wide receiver O.J. Murdoch died Monday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Tampa Police confirmed Murdoch's death at 10:43 a.m. on Monday after discovering his body at 8:30 a.m.EDT in the high school parking lot of Middleton High School, where he starred as a prep player.
Murdoch, 25, never reported to the Titans training camp this year, and Coach Mike Munchak indicated he was dealing with a "personal issue." However, the team had expected him to report soon.
Murdoch came to Tennessee in 2011 as an undrafted free agent and spent last year on injured reserve after tearing his Achilles tendon in training camp.
He began his college career at South Carolina, but was dismissed from the squad and finished at Division II Fort Hays State.
