Reports that Nate Washington was potentially on trading block apparently does not sit well with the Tennessee Titans receiver.

Washington would apparently prefer that the Titans release him instead of trying to trade him, according to TitanInsider.com.

The reports indicated that the Titans were shopping Washington, who has two years remaining on his contract, but no cap acceleration in the event he is traded or released. The Titans had interest in Danny Amendola of St. Louis, but he signed with the New England Patriots on Wednesday. Tennessee is scheduled to host Brandon Gibson of the Rams on Friday.

Washington had 46 receptions for the Titans last season, but is one year removed from having 74 receptions for 1,023 yards in 2011. The Titans signed Washington as an unrestricted free agent in 2009 to a six-year contract.
