Tennessee Titans defensive end Kamerion Wimbley has stated his preference.

He wants to stay with the Titans

Due a $6 million base salary next season in the third year of his five-year, $35 million contract, Wimbley is hoping he's in the Titans' plans.

“I would love to be back, and I expect to be back in a Titans uniform,’’ Wimbley told the Tennessean. “They are doing some exciting things. My contract is not up, and I am training as hard if not harder than I’ve trained any other offseason. So yeah, that is what I am expecting. Unless I hear something different, I expect to be back.”

Wimbley has nine sacks and 62 tackles in two seasons in Tennessee.

“I was brought in to be a pass rusher when they brought me out of Oakland," Wimbley said. "The first year we were behind in games, so you don’t necessarily get the chance to rush the passer where if you’re ahead of other teams, they’re forced to throw it a lot more and you get opportunities to show what you have. The emphasis this year was to stop the run and they brought in players to help us to do that so I was in more of a rotation. But I definitely feel I am capable of (doing more).”
