Veteran let go after playing just one year in Tennessee. Terry McCormick
The Tennessee Titans have released veteran defensive tackle Shaun Smith after just one season with the club, according to TitanInsider.com.
Smith signed a three-year, $7.5 million deal just after the lockout ended last year, but had only one sack and 44 tackles a year ago for the Titans as youngsters like Karl Klug and Jurrell Casey eventually passed him in the defensive tackle rotation.
By cutting Smith, the Titans save a net of $1.25 million in cap space.
