Tennessee WR has two years remaining on contract. Terry McCormick
The Tennessee Titans are attempting to move veteran wide receiver Nate Washington and have their eyes on St. Louis Rams free agent receiver Danny Amendola, per TitanInsider.
Washington, 29, caught 74 passes in 2011 for the Titans and had 1,023 yards receiving. But last year, he had 46 receptions, and the Titans wound up with rookie Kendall Wright leading the team in catches with 64.
Amendola had 63 catches last year for the Rams, and missed five games due to collarbone and foot injuries.
If the Titans let go of Washington either by trade or release, there would be no accelerated dead money onto the cap. He is scheduled to make $4.2 million in base salary this year and $4.8 million in 2014. However, his $4.5 million signing bonus was prorated over five years, not six when he signed the deal in 2009.
