The Tennessee Titans have signed sixth-round quarterback Rusty Smith to a four-year contract with a total base value of slightly over $1.9 million and a signing bonus of roughly $114,000, according to a league source.
Drafted 176th overall, Smith passed for 10,112 career yards, 76 touchdowns and 36 interceptions in 45 career starts.
The 6-foot-5, 226-pounder was named Sun Belt Player of the Year as a sophomore after connecting on 281 of 479 passes for 3,688 yards with 32 touchdowns.
He led FAU to its second consecutive bowl game as a junior and was named Motor City Bowl MVP after throwing for 306 yards and two touchdowns.
Smith was on his way to another strong campaign as a senior before an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.
