Quarterback, Patriots agree to terms Aaron Wilson
The New England Patriots have hammered out a four-year, $72 million contract extension with star quarterback Tom Brady.
According to the Boston Globe, the deal includes $48.5 million in guaranteed money.
Peter King of Sports Illustrated first reported the extension, saying that owner Robert Kraft informed him of the deal and would be officially announced Friday.
The deal averages $18 million annually and runs through 2014. It has been signed and will be processed Friday.
Brady was in a car accident earlier Thursday when his sedan was struck by a passenger van that ran a redlight. He was unhurt and practiced fully Thursday.
A rough day for Brady got a lot better by the end of it with him becoming an even richer man.
