New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady isn't expected to play tonight against the Washington Redskins, according to ESPN Boston.

Backup Ryan Mallett will start in his place.

Brady has practiced a lot this week.

"We got a ton of reps," Brady said earlier this week. "[Monday], I'd say it was probably 80 or 90 reps. [Tuesday] was probably pretty similar. Typically you don't get that in a given week."

This could possibly be a chance to showcase Mallett for potential trade offers.

The Patriots drafted Jimmy Garoppolo in the second round. Mallett is entering the last year of his rookie deal.
