How long is veteran running back LaDainian Tomlinson planning to take before he makes his decision on where he'll play next season?

According to ESPN, Tomlinson told the Minnesota Vikings he would take his visit with the New York Jets, return home to San Diego and then talk things over with his wife.

That's the scenario that has been unfolding.

And Tomlinson isn't expected to make a decision between the Vikings and Jets until Sunday or Monday at the soonest.

At this point, it remains a two-team race for the veteran running back. And that appears unlikely to change after both teams made strong bids to woo the former San Diego Chargers star.

The offers from both clubs are not what he was expecting. They are not for much money with much of the contracts insentive based. That is why he is taking the time, he does not really like either offer but must take a few days to come to terms with his fall from grace.

not true diana, he said he was impressed with the vikings and he quoted being "wowed" by the,, but i havn't heard what he said about the jets.I think if he wats a ring, go with the vikings, if he wants more playing time, go with new york.

jbork, have you ever heard of posturing. It's what Tomlinson did after his visit to Minnesota so he could drive the price up.

As for getting a ring, he has an equal opportunity at each place

jdb: the jets suck. they were overacheivers this past year. thanks to playing the colts who had nothing to play for, they made it into the playoffs. he wants to win a SB, then sign with the Vikes.
