Top Class of 2013 wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr., the son of Los Angeles Angels outfielder Torii Hunter, has committed to play at Notre Dame.

The 6-foot, 172-pounder from Prosper High School (Prosper, TX) was in attendance for Saturday night’s contest at Notre Dame Stadium between the Fighting Irish and Michigan, and ND's 13-6 victory clearly made a strong impression on the recruit as he committed on Sunday. He was in South Bend for the game on an official visit.

Hunter is Notre Dame's 21st commitment in the 2013 recruiting class and the third Texan to commit to the South Bend school, joining running back Jamel James and fellow receiver Corey Robinson, the son of former NBA star David Robinson.

In 2011 Hunter caught 43 passes for 749 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has 15 receptions for 329 yards and four touchdowns this fall.

Hunter had officials scheduled for Nebraska, Arizona State and Utah this fall but will no longer visit those schools.
