With a prize pool of just over $1.1 million, the LVH SuperContest is one of the most popular and prestigious NFL handicapping tournaments in the world. Participants shell out a $1,500 entry fee for the right to pick five NFL games against the spread each week, for all 17 weeks of the regular season. Last year’s winner (Sans Souci, 58-22-5) took home $310,200 and with a record 745 entries for 2012, this year’s champion will pocket a cool $447,000.
Every Saturday, the LVH posts a complete breakdown of how many times each team was selected by contestants for the coming week. And while following our weekly plays may prove disastrous (current record: 4-6), the following chart will provide a look into the most popular picks for Week 3.
Note: One fool failed to turn in his picks this week, so these numbers are based on 744 entrants, not 745.
FORTENBAUGH’S PICKS: Chargers (-3.5), Cardinals (+4), Texans (-2.5), Browns (+3) and 49ers (-7).
