Carolina Panthers veteran defensive end Greg Hardy has a Tuesday court appearance in a domestic violence case, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Hardy allegedly beat up a former girlfriend at his apartment in May.

Hardy slammed Nicole Holder on top of a couch covered in guns, according to police.

Holder allegedly became upset about Holder's short relationship with the rapper Nelly after she broke and Hardy broke up.

Hardy, 25, is charged with assaulting a female and communicating threats and could face up to two months in jail if convicted.

Hardy is the Panthers' franchise player, at a cost of $13.1 million, after he recorded 15 sacks last season.
