Troubling family situation continues for Tyron Smith

Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith called 911 on Tuesday afternoon to ask for help from Dallas police because siblings showed up at his home to “harass and torment” him for money.

Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports Smith is emotionally distraught over having to ask authorities for help as family members apparently have been aggressively seeking cash handouts from the 2011 first-round draft pick that was the youngest player in the league a year ago.

Smith has two brothers and three sisters and two of the sisters were among at least three people who were at his home Saturday and Tuesday, according to George’s report. In the last several months, family members have sought out Smith for financial gain.

It’s nothing new. Smith filed protective orders against his stepfather Roy Pinkney and his mother Frankie Pinkney in the summer and during training camp over the summer family members had to be removed from the facility.
 

“Lesser means were tried and they weren’t successful,” attorney John Schorsch said, according to the report. “You can use your own imagination as to what it took for a guy that big and that imposing to be that worried.”
