Two-month investigation preceded JaMarcus Russell arrest

It wasn't through coincidence or random sighting that former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

According to the Associated Press, police investigated for two months before arresting Russell.

And more arrests could be in the offing

Russell, 24, was caught with codeine syrup without a prescription at his home in Mobile, Ala.

Per the report, Russell wasn't a specific target in the investigatiojn.

However, his name and address came up several times.

Russell, who has yet to comment on the arrest, has been assigned a July 20 court date.
