The family of legendary Baltimore Colts quarterback Johnny Unitas is not happy with the casting of current Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco as Johnny U. in a forthcoming movie.
"If you want a real movie, hire a real actor," wrote J.C. Unitas, the grandson of the Colts' star,, on Facebook per USA Today. "My grandfather and his legacy deserves only the best, and this is not it. Has Baltimore forgotten that Trent Dilfer also won a Super Bowl while playing for Baltimore?"
.Flacco appears to be caught as an unwitting pawn in a Unitas family feud, as J.C.'s father, Unitas' son, called the Ravens' QB a "goofball."
Unitas' son, Joe, from his second marriage, is producing the movie. But John Unitas, the son from the first marriage is not happy with that either, issuing some scathing words about his half brother.
Joe's mother, Sandra Unitas, unsuccessfully sued John Jr., Johnny's eldest son from his first marriage, over control of Unitas Management, which owns the rights to the family name.
John Jr., who was a ball boy for the Colts during his father's playing days in Baltimore, is considering legal recourse against Joe if he profits from his father's name.
"It is awful. The guy's a turd," John Jr. said in the report. "He never talked to me. He never talked to any of the first five children. He's a guy that's just making money off of my father."
Unitas' second wife Sandra unsuccessfully sued John Jr. for control of the late quarterback's estate.
