Utecht wins grievance against Bengals

Former NFL tight end Ben Utecht has won a grievance hearing against the Cincinnati Bengals, stemming from his 2009 release, per Andrew Brandt.

Utecht claims, and an arbitrator agreed, that the Bengals "had not sufficiently" tested him once he returned from a concussion and was later released by the team.

Brandt points out that it upheld the more strenuous guidelines for club that is now in place and that the Bengals' treating of Utecht's situation at the time was not sufficient enough.
