Denver Broncos defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson was not happy with the news that Elvis Dumervil had agreed to a five-year, $26 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
Dumervil, who was freed by a fax snafu that caused the Broncos to terminate his contract when paperwork was not received in time, agreed Sunday to the contract with the Ravens.
“Elvis has been a big part of this football team,” Vickerson told the Denver Post. “I know business is business, but this is the part of business that sucks. I congratulate Elvis. At the same time those are big shoes to fill coming off the edge. Elvis was a great Bronco. That’s my guy. He’ll be missed."
Vickerson is counting on former first-round pick Robert Ayers and Malik Jackson to help pick up the slack. The Colts are also courting free agent Dwight Freeney.
