In the new collective bargaining agreement, players must be given a full day off once a week.

The Minnesota Vikings were given Sunday off and Rhett Bomar got carried away knowing he didn’t have to show up for practice after a night on the town Saturday. The reserve quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings was arrested for alleged third-degree drunken driving in the wee hours Sunday in Mankato, Minn.

The team declined to comment on the issue, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Bomar was signed to the practice squad by the Vikings late last season when the Brett Favre tour was coming to an end. He’s not expected to make the roster ahead of Joe Webb and now he’s got off-field issues to deal with.
