Rick Spielman hung a “For Sale” sign out there already when it comes to the third pick in the NFL draft.
But the Minnesota Vikings are not getting much action right now, not according to Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Spielman, the general manager, made it known the Vikings would consider trading down in the first round, hoping to attract some interest if the St. Louis Rams were going to hang on to their pick at No. 2. It doesn’t look like that is going to happen now as the Rams are doing all they can to create a market for the second pick and quarterback Robert Griffin III.
That means the Vikings will have to either hang on to the third overall pick – not the worst outcome – or find someone interested in trading up for a non-quarterback like Southern Cal offensive tackle Matt Kalil.
Thing is, Kalil would look pretty good playing for the Vikings. He might just be their man when it’s all said and done.
