Here is yet another good reason for the Minnesota Vikings to be doing the fire drill thing when it comes to looking for a wide receiver.
Sidney Rice says he is not certain if he will be ready to play in the season opener Sept. 9 against the New Orleans Saints. So, let’s see if we can get this straight. The quarterback Brett Favre, who will make his preseason debut this weekend in San Francisco, suffered an ankle injury that required offseason surgery. Favre will be ready for a rematch with the Saints, but Rice, who was reportedly injured in the same game, might not be ready for the opener?
That is what our old college friend Chip Scoggins reports for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. So, not only does the health of Percy Harvin have the Vikings brass concerned and kicking the tires of Brandon Jones, Javon Walker and who knows who else, the team has to question the availability of Rice.
