Even with trip lined up to Jets, Minnesota isn't going to push it Brad Biggs
The Minnesota Vikings are not feeling the pressure to get a deal done with LaDainian Tomlinson today, even if he has a trip scheduled to visit the New York Jets lined up.
The Vikings brought Tomlinson in on Wednesday night and wined and dined him in Minneapolis, and reports are that he is at the team’s facility right now. If a deal isn’t struck, he will check in with the Jets, who could be in the market for a complementary back after cutting Thomas Jones.
"There's no pressure to say, hey, we have to get it done today,” personnel boss Rick Spielamn told KFAN radio this morning, according to Rick Spielman of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
“I think we just sit back and go through the process," Spielman said. "If he leaves here and we don't get something done, we're going to be fine."
When Tomlinson was cut and it was evident Chester Taylor would not be returning to the Vikings, we wrote right here that he would be a terrific fit for Minnesota. He does everything well that the team is looking for in a third-down back. If the team believes he has enough gas left in the tank to be productive, the move makes perfect sense. We’ll see if something gets done.

Westbrook is a better fit for Minny.
Westbrook has no body left - is one blow from retirement. Not even worth consideration.
The only thing the Vikings are in a hurry to do is become the leagues biggest disappointment next year.
pass on him, go for westbrook
Biggest disappointment?
Based on what? Loss of Taylor?
LOL.... The Defense is intact and Greenway is going to come back.

well I guess since the defense is in tact and greenway is coming back the league should just give them the Lombardi trophy. I mean it's not like the teams in their division are getting any better or anything or like they're waiting for a 40 year old quarterback to make up his mind. They're totally gonna do better next year than they did this year and they'll have a better shot next year with a quarterback who will be 41. And brad childress is a great coach. I mean, look at the schemes he comes up with. He can out coach anybody. Thanks for making me see things differently
Getting paid by the Saints would allow Delhomme to get an up-close look at the Panthers twice per season, you know, to thank them for the parting gift.

"He does everything well that the team is looking for in a third-down back" except pass block. Maybe they can have him play BEHIND AP in the I formation, and recover fumbles.
