The Minnesota Vikings are making sure at least one of their defensive ends won't leave via free agency.

According to, the Vikings have struck a deal with defensive end Everson Griffen that will reportedly pay him a lot of money.

Griffen is certainly a top defensive end the Vikings can build around, given that he's recorded 17.5 sacks the past three years.

With Griffen locked up and Brian Robison getting a deal during the season, it appears the Vikings will part ways with Jared Allen. According to, Allen is preparing to test free agency and isn't expecting to return to Minnesota.
