The New England Patriots will host free agent running back/return man Leon Washington today, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Washington, who has played for the Jets and Seahawks, was expendable in Seattle due to the acquisition of Percy Harvin, but over the years, he has proven to be quite the effective kick returner and situational running back.

The Patriots love players who have versatility and that description certainly fits Washington. New England has competition for the veteran from the Tampa Bay Bucs, who have already hosted him.
