Weeden enters off-season as Browns starter

As the Cleveland Browns enter their off-season work, Brandon Weeden, a first-round pick a year ago, figures to retain the starting quarterback spot in 2013.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, though the Browns' new ownership and management might have been weighing their options as the position, Weeden will get a full chance to stay in the lineup as the starter.

The Browns apparently aren't enamored with any of the quarterbacks in this year's draft, and Jason Campbell's signing appears to be as an insurance policy, giving Cleveland an experienced backup if Weeden is injured or falters.

That leaves Colt McCoy likely on the outside looking in and perhaps looking for a new team eventually as well.

If all this is in order, then Weeden has 2013 to prove himself, or the Browns' brass might be looking at different options by 2014.
