New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker underwent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, an offseason procedure that's less serious than the torn anterior cruciate ligament he shredded in the final game of the season.
According to ESPN.com, the knee is the bigger problem that Welker is facing.
Per the report, the knee is "Welker's primary obstacle."
Welker is still confident that he won't be sidelined this season despite the bad timing of the injury so late in the 2009 campaign.
Welker was the NFL's leading receiver with 128 catches last season.
