Wes Welker has some explaining to do.
The veteran receiver will be suspended for four games after violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. According to ESPN.com's Adam Schefter, Welker tested positive for amphetamines.
Making things interesting, Pro Football Talk followed up with a report that Welker took the designer drug molly while at the Kentucky Derby this past May. Hey, if true, that could explain why he was so happy to hand out $100 bills to folks after he scored a win with his horse.
Any concern about Welker returning to the field too soon due to his concussion issues can at least be temporarily halted. He'll now have an extra four games to rest his head while serving his ban.
