Whisenhunt on 4-0 start: 'I don’t care how you do it'

The Arizona Cardinals are 4-0 for the first time since 1974 and they did it in dramatic fashion on Sunday with a 24-21 victory over the Miami Dolphins in overtime at University of Phoenix Stadium.

It was their eighth consecutive home victory and five of those games were decided in overtime, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, giving the feel-good story from the first month of the NFL’s regular season another dimension.

Everyone knows the Cardinals have quarterback and offensive line issues and both were apparent Sunday when Kevin Kolb was sacked eight times. But on fourth-and-10 with 29 seconds to play, he found Andre Roberts for a touchdown that forced overtime. It marked just the 10th time in franchise history the Cardinals have won a game in which they trailed by 13 or more points at halftime as Miami was blanking Arizona 13-0 at intermission.

We’re not the prettiest girl at the dance,” guard Daryn Colledge said, according to Somers.

No one is counting style points at this juncture. The Cardinals are alone in first place in the NFC West and one of three unbeaten teams remaining in the NFL.

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “If anybody said, ‘You want to be 4-0 to start the season?’ I don’t care how you do it, it doesn’t matter.”
