Will San Diego Chargers restricted free agent quarterback Charlie Whitehurst garner an offer?

The answer is perhaps.

Per the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals are contemplating making an offer.

Whitehurst is a former third-round draft pick out of Clemson, so the Chargers would receive a third-rounder as compensation if they didn't match an offer sheet.

As the report notes, the Chargers probably would be fine with a third-round pick in exchange for Whitehurst leaving.

Billy Volek is making $3 million annually as the backup to starter Philip Rivers.
