Charlie Whitehurst is a man with options.
The San Diego Chargers' restricted free agent quarterback has reportedly been offered contracts by the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL.com.
The third-string signal caller is reportedly going to make a decision within the next few days.
Since Whitehurst was drafted in the third round out of Clemson, any team that signs him to an offer sheet would be giving up their third-round pick if the Chargers opted not to match.
The Seahawks, though, don't have a third round pick.
Per the report, they have held trade discussions with the Chargers.
Whitehust hasn't been tested in a regular-season game with no game action to date, but has performed well during the preseason.
And he's regarded as mobile, strong-armed and athletic.
In San Diego, though, he remains behind Billy Volek, who's the primary backup to Philip Rivers.
